Please be advised that the application window for the 2024 term has officially closed. We invite you to consider applying for future terms as we continue to strive towards creating enriching opportunities for Interac’s Youth Council. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

The Interac Youth Council is a group of young Canadians (ages 16-24) who provide advice to inform Interac on issues of importance to them and Canadian youth, and is a way to support Interac’s commitment to engage all Canadians. We’re all about giving emerging leaders the spotlight to influence decisions that affect Canadians from coast-to-coast-to-coast.

  • Disclosure statement regarding consent to the information

    At Interac Corp., an important part of our commitment to you is respect for your privacy and to protect your personal information in our care.

    By completing and submitting this application form to Interac, you are consenting to Interac collecting, using, disclosing, and retaining certain of your personal information for the purposes of reviewing and determining eligibility and suitability for participation in the Interac Youth Council.

    Personal information collected during the application process may include:

    Certain of the Basic Information collected under Part 1 of this application form: legal given name, legal surname, preferred pronouns, preferred name (optional), email, phone number, address; and

    Any other personal information shared by you to Interac under Parts 2 through 4 of this application form (e.g., photos, videos, legal status, personal information shared in responses to the application questions or on your resume, etc.).

    If selected to participate in the Interac Youth Council, Interac will need to collect and use certain of your personal information to administer and deliver the Interac Youth Council. More information will be provided in an Interac Youth Council Letter (which you will need to review and sign, if selected), but please note that:

    Interac will collect and use the feedback you provide during the program for the purpose of adding to its requirements when designing new products and services, to modify existing products and services, and to include or summarize into documents.

    Subject to obtaining your express consent (or the express consent of your parent/guardian, where applicable), Interac may collect photographs, interviews, videos, and other images of you for the purpose of editorial, trade, advertising, display or exhibition including Interac publications and advertising of every description and in every form of media. Please note, should you elect not to consent to Interac’s use of your photographs, interviews, videos, and other images for the above purposes, you will still be able to participate in the Interac Youth Council, but you may not realize the full benefits of the Interac Youth Council (e.g., inability to participate in certain portions of workshops, trainings or programs; no profile or articles published on our website, etc.).

    You have the right to access and rectify your personal information, subject to certain required and permitted exceptions under applicable law. You may contact Interac directly to access or rectify your personal information. You may also withdraw your consent to our continued use and disclosure of your personal information by contacting us, subject to any limitations under applicable law. Please note that such withdrawal of consent will not operate retroactively.
