At Interac, excellent corporate citizenship is about the actions we take to invest in our communities and the impact it has on those in need.
At the Elevate Tech Festival, we are proud to be partnering with Prosper Canada to raise funds to build financial confidence through educational programs for low-income and economically marginalized communities.
Prosper Canada is Canada’s leading national charity of financial empowerment, which works with governments, businesses, and community groups to develop and promote financial policies, programs and resources that transform lives and foster the prosperity of all Canadians.
“Low-income and vulnerable Canadians have borne the financial brunt of the pandemic. Prosper Canada is working with a national network of partners to assist Canadians who are struggling to make ends meet to achieve greater financial stability. We are excited to be collaborating with Interac alongside other partners to expand community-based financial help services that are proven to help Canadians improve their financial wellbeing and confidence,” said Elizabeth Mulholland, CEO, Prosper Canada.
Funds will be raised through interactive installations at the festival that will allow Elevate attendees to tap their Interac Debit card or mobile wallet to donate directly to Prosper Canada. Interac is matching all donations made at Elevate Festival, up to $50,000.
“As an organization that helps more than 30 million Canadians move their money and verify themselves safely and securely, we are committed to supporting our local communities,” said Daria Hill, Vice President, Marketing & Communications at Interac. “We are proud to partner with Prosper Canada to give Canadians access to the tools, resources, and coaching they need to build the financial skills that will help them confidently seize economic opportunities.”
In addition to raising funds, Interac is proud to be the presenting sponsor of the NFT Art Gallery at the Elevate Festival. The gallery is a celebratory culmination of work from new and emerging digital artists, including those from the residency program, where creators from underrepresented communities will spotlight their artwork on a global stage. Interac is partnering with The Remix Project to encourage gallery attendees to reflect on what an inclusive digital future means to them by participating in the development of an original piece of digital art.
Interac is committed to excellent corporate citizenship and community investment, and over the past six months, we’ve donated nearly $200,000 to community organizations through similar sponsorships such as the Collision Conference and the Metro Retro Drive-In series.
