Canadians named Interac the most respected technology service provider in Canada for the second year in a row, followed by Google and YouTube. Interac earned a Respect Score of 70.8, 24 per cent above the national survey average.
Interac powers technology across payments and verification in Canada. In 2022, Interac sign-in service surpassed 100 million transactions as Canadians sought secure and convenient ways to authenticate themselves online. Interac e-Transfer usage also surpassed one billion transactions in a 12-month period, a milestone in the service’s 20-year history.
“Interac is committed to offering secure and trusted payment and verification solutions as the amount of critical information Canadians exchange continues to increase,” said Jeff Henderson, Chief Technology Officer at Interac. “Being named Canada’s Most Respected Technology Service Provider speaks to our commitment to security and privacy throughout our 38-year history, and the value we place on investing in our employees, communities, and consumers and businesses in Canada.”
The award, part of the Canada’s Most Respected Awards Program, evaluates Canadians’ respect of technology product providers through a variety of dimensions, including products and solutions, leadership, citizenship and contributions to the community, employee and customer experiences, media conversations and more.
“Corporate respect is a hard-earned public measure that goes well beyond trust, good products, and responsible corporate citizenship,” said Jeff Munn, executive director of Canada’s Most Respected Awards Program. “Each one of these top ranked companies have managed to deliver the best attributes and behaviours the public deems important within this sector.”
The title of Most Respected Technology Service Provider in Canada follows other industry accolades for Interac, including Canada’s Most Trusted Financial Services brand, one of Canada’s most reputable companies, and one of Greater Toronto’s Top Employers.
