At Interac, innovation and collaboration are at the core of everything we do, which is why we were beyond excited and honoured to be a part of Elevate, Canada’s largest tech festival. Elevate took place in Toronto from Sept. 20th to Sept. 27th and the event kicked off with Elevate Tech Jam, an inclusive hackathon that brought together more than 500 participants that were challenged with tackling social issues that impact the world we live in today.
Experts from across our organization also championed several keynote and panel discussions throughout Elevate. Oscar Roque, AVP, Innovation, Research & Emerging Solutions, joined an Open Banking Masterclass with industry leaders who shared their thoughts on open banking, one of the hot topics in the fintech sector.
Next on the agenda was Elevate Money Stage, planned and executed by Interac, Tangerine and TWG, where Debbie Gamble, Chief Officer, Innovation Labs and New Ventures, took centre stage and delivered a thought-provoking keynote regarding the future of commerce and how it requires the foundation of trust. Next, Neil Butters, Director of Products and Platforms, participated in a lively panel discussion regarding how finance and digital identity intersect.
We closed out Elevate by hosting an Interac Recruitment event where we brought together professionals who are looking to burst into the fintech industry.
