The COVID-19 pandemic has seen organizations across the country, with the exception of essential services, mandate their employees to work from home – Interac included. While this is an effective way to keep our employees safe and help practice social distancing, it is unfamiliar territory that comes with its own challenges and everyone’s experience is different. That’s why it’s now more important than ever to stay connected. We’re used to crossing paths with colleagues in the lunchrooms, going for coffee chats with teammates and hosting in-person social engagement activities. Over the past month, we’ve adapted to these unusual times by launching company-wide virtual engagement initiatives, so we continue to be a united team.
Robert Fodor, Chief Data Officer at Interac, hosted an online Live Cooking Class where he brought employees from across the organization together to teach them how to make his famous mushroom risotto. He also gave employees an inside look into his kitchen and answered questions and comments in real-time. Almost 50 Interac employees joined for the live session and put their cooking skills to the test.
The results? Amazing. See below for some of the creations from the live event.
The cooking class is one example of how the Interac team is supporting employees while working from home. It’s more critical than ever to ensure employees feel connected and know that they are not alone during these unusual times. We’ve also launched other engagement initiatives such as a weekly meditation session, virtual fitness classes for employees and a bi-weekly newsletter to keep staff up to date with all that’s happening within the organization.
