Explore Connecting Canadians to the Digital Economy, the 2022 Interac Corporate Year in Review.
Interac empowers employees to live their lives to the fullest โ while at work and away. In 2022, we collaborated with employees to establish our hybrid work model, offering them the flexibility to work where they work best, and continued our commitment to providing best-in-class benefits, competitive salaries, and career development opportunities.
Every individual is unique, and Interac creates a diverse and inclusive work culture to make sure everyone on the team feels empowered to be their authentic selves at work. We are committed to ensuring every individual has opportunities and access to resources to reach their full potential and thrive. In 2022, Interac worked with partners like the Toronto District School Board to provide meaningful growth opportunities for Black students through quarterly experiential learning sessions and summer internships, and ACCES Employment to mentor newcomers in Canada landing employment opportunities. Employees also take the lead by forming employee resource groups (ERGs) based on any common quality, background or interest that derives from the eight dimensions of diversity that make up Interacโs D&I program.
At Interac, employees are evaluated on their impact. Launched in 2022, the Interac hybrid work model empowers employees to work remotely and/or in the office, focusing on business outcomes rather than location. The aim is to support flexibility while still encouraging the face-to-face collaboration that makes Interac culture special. Employees are empowered to choose a workstyle that best supports their lifestyle and productivity (resident, remote or mobile). The flexibility offered through our hybrid work model is a key part of what we call #InteracLife.
This past year, we asked our employees what they value about #InteracLife. They told us it meant thriving at work and at home โ tapping into full potential for growth, embracing new challenges, and cultivating real friendships that extend beyond the workplace. It means championing diversity outside our walls while fostering a richness of belonging within them, and playing a part in building an equitable, accessible and prosperous community for all Canadians. It means being passionate about our work because we know it matters. Interac recognizes that finding the right people and nurturing them is a big part of how the organization delivers innovation that makes life more seamless for Canadians. That is why Interac is committed to providing employees with best-in-class benefits, competitive salaries, development and career planning tools and recognizing and celebrating achievements through employee appreciation programs. In 2022, Interac launched new leadership development programs to help equip new and developing leaders with the skills to develop and manage high-performing teams, including quarterly leadership workshops, monthly leadership coaching, and leadership 360-degree assessments. We offered extra-long Wellness Weekends and early closures during the summer months and continued our popular Quiet Hours where, three times per day, employees are encouraged to avoid booking meetings to allow time for focused work or to manage family responsibilities. Our team also recognized their colleagues more than 9,500 times โ an average of 17 per employee โ on Bucketlist, our employee recognition platform.
