Explore Connecting Canadians to the Digital Economy, the 2022 Interac Corporate Year in Review.
Interac remained steadfast in its commitment to protecting Canadiansโ privacy and ensuring personal information is in their control when they choose to access online services. As digital transformation progresses, more Canadians are exchanging personal information online, including financial data and personal credentials. Interac verification solutions helps put Canadians in control of their information and how it is shared and used online.
2022 saw updates to Interac verification products, including the renaming of Interac sign-in service (formerly Government Sign-In by Verified.Me), used by Canadians to access over 280 federal and provincial government services. As Canadians increasingly sought secure and convenient ways to authenticate themselves online, the Interac sign-in service reached more than 100 million transactions in 2022. Interac verification service (formerly Verified.Me) and Interac document verification service (formerly Document Verification by Verified.Me) provide Canadians with another convenient option to securely verify their identities to access services online.
Interac also continued to drive momentum with the public sector to provide Canadians with secure and convenient access to government services. That included managing delivery of product capabilities and new functionalities while streamlining the onboarding of new federal government programs. In 2023, Interac will continue to focus on strengthening this core area of the Interac business while investing in strategic areas to build capabilities, adoption and utility.
