Jeff Henderson joins Interac Corp. as its new Chief Technology Officer. Amid evolving market dynamics and an increasingly sophisticated cyber landscape, Jeff will play a key role in maintaining our commitment to empower Canadians to transact digitally with confidence through payment and value exchange services rooted in security, reliability and efficiency.
Following a 4-month executive search process, Jeff was selected to lead the Technology & Operations group at Interac. In his role, Jeff is responsible for all technology, security, data, and infrastructure at Interac, with a focus on ensuring the reliability and security of our national payments platforms while driving technological innovations that futureproof Interac solutions and meet the evolving digital needs of Canadians. Jeff will reinforce Interac’s commitments to operational excellence, resiliency, and increased scalability while taking over leadership of key priority initiatives driving digital transformation and payments modernization, including our work with Payments Canada to help build the Real-Time Rail leveraging Interac’s existing infrastructure and connectivity to nearly 300 financial institutions.
Jeff brings over 25 years of experience in technology strategy and transformation, operations, delivery, security and data management to his role at Interac. Prior to joining Interac, Jeff served as EVP, Technology & Data Risk Management at TD Bank Group, where he led the development, oversight, assessment, and implementation of its second line defence in technology and cybersecurity risk. Prior to that, as EVP and Group CIO, he led the Enterprise Technology Solutions group, overseeing all aspects of technology across the bank. Jeff also held progressive leadership roles – including Chief Technology Officer, CIO TD Canadian Banking, CIO TD America’s Most Convenient Bank, CIO Wholesale Banking and Chief Auditor – during his 27-year tenure with TD Bank.
Jeff is Chair of the Advisory Board at Canadian Institute of Cyber Security. He actively supports his community, volunteering as a youth baseball coach as well as with community organizations including Etobicoke Swim Club and Ontario Track3 Ski Association for the Disabled, which provides kids of all abilities the opportunity to experience the joys of skiing.
Jeff’s unique combination of business and technical acumen and extensive experience across all aspects of technology strategy and execution will be an asset to Interac as the organization drives the evolution of security, privacy and inclusivity for all Canadians, while investing in talent and recruitment strategies that will support Interac through its next stage of transformation and growth.
